Apply for Funding to Train the Next Generation Hydrogen Workforce

A diverse group of young professionals

The Department of Energy’s (DOE) Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technologies Office (HFTO) is contributing $2 million to an open funding opportunity announcement (FOA) to build a talent pipeline of untapped scientists and engineers from Historically Black Colleges and Universities and Other Minority Institutions to help bridge the gap in clean hydrogen workforce development.

This investment will advance HFTO’s goals in clean hydrogen production, storage, delivery, and end uses, including fuel cells. Students participating in future awards coming out from the FOA may be given the opportunity to visit DOE’s national laboratories and conduct information exchanges with researchers.

Read the NETL FOA announcement to learn more and apply through FedConnect by May 31, 2022.
