DOE Issues a Notice of Final Rule Pertaining to the Test Procedure Interim Waiver Process

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has issued a pre-publication Federal Register notice revising DOE’s test procedure interim waiver process. The revisions address areas of the test procedure interim waiver process regulations that may result in alternate test procedures that are inconsistent with the purpose and requirements of the Energy Policy and Conservation Act, and that otherwise appear not to effectuate the statute properly.

  • The effective date of this rule is 60 days after the notice has published in the Federal Register. DOE will send a follow up email to announce the effective date once the notice has been published.
  • Additional information on waivers can be found on DOE’s waiver website.
