DOE Publishes a Request For Information Pertaining to Test Procedures for Fans and Blowers
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has published a Federal Register notice undertaking the preliminary stages of a rulemaking to consider potential test procedures for fans and blowers, including air circulating fan heads. Through this request for information (RFI), DOE seeks data and information regarding issues pertinent to whether new test procedures would accurately and fully comply with the requirement that a test procedure measures energy use during a representative average use cycle for the equipment without being unduly burdensome to conduct. DOE welcomes written comments from the public on any subject within the scope of this document (including topics not raised in this RFI), as well as the submission of data and other relevant information.
- DOE will accept comments, data, and information regarding this RFI until November 1, 2021.
- Interested persons may submit comments identified by docket number EERE–2021–BT–TP-0021, by email (FansBlowers2021TP0021@ee.doe.gov) or Federal eRulemaking portal (http://www.regulations.gov).
- Find product information for Commercial and Industrial Fans and Blowers including current standards and test procedures, statutory authority, waivers, exceptions and contact information.
